From Fantasy to Reality

The Brownell Networks was originally a childhood fantasy of founder Ryan Brownell. Instead of playing hide and seek, and other childhood games, Ryan played “Store” and fantasized about owning his own large business. He came up with the idea and the logo for Brownell Networks while he was in grade 8, when he created his second and third website and he wanted to attribute it back to him, or rather something larger. Though at the time it was redundant that the two websites—a web ring and a website designed for giving other teenagers advice—be linked together the name and the logo existed to inspire Ryan later on in life to actually begin to fulfill his dream.

With a lack of purpose for several years, the name and logo was just an idea in the back of Ryan’s head until he decided to use it to promote himself as a website designer. Later on however the name was discarded because it really didn’t suit what it was intended to promote. The name Natural Flow Design then came around to promote Ryan, not only as a website designer, but a digital artist who was capable of not only websites but computer graphics and branding.

Then in June of 2007 Ryan saw that it was time to start his own hosting company to both improve service value to clients and lower prices to them but also to reduce costs to Ryan to run his website design company. Thus Exodios Web Hosting was born. Ryan then saw this as an opportunity to finally give some sort of purpose to the name that he had sitting in the back of his head for 7 years. Brownell Networks was then used to conglomerate both NFD and Exodios and be a backing for any possible new ideas for companies Ryan would come up with.

The word “group” was then tacked onto Brownell Networks later on when Ryan began to develop an automated billing system and he determined that it would be more efficient just to use one billing system for all two companies. The word “group” was added to reduce confusion for clients when they received their bills from a different company for the work of another company.

The Future

Ryan plans to continue to expand the Brownell Networks Group and its client bases, always making sure that every single niche along the way gets filled to help the BNG realize its full potential.
